About WRES!
Western Railway Equipment Services was founded in 1996 to fill a void in the field of Track Maintenance Equipment in the Western half of the US. Working closely with Railway Equipment Services of Oil City Louisiana, WRES has now grown to covering the entire US, Canada and Mexico. WRES has supplied equipment to satisfied customers in the Caribbean and Australia.

Beside the equipment owned by us, WRES lists, without charge, equipment from other sources such as railroads, contractors, individuals and other equipment dealers.

Along with RES, Western Railway Equipment Services offers for sale the track surplus track equipment of one of the largest railroads in the US. Due to the arrangement between us and the railroad, we are able to offer good quality equipment from them at very affordable prices. Beside the track equipment turned over for sale, the railroad has added their entire stock of new, rebuilt and used parts for track equipment.

We offer custom services such as undercutting, on track brush cutting, tie distribution, tie inserting/extracting, custom surfacing and more.

We work in partnership with providers of new parts for track equipment at prices far lower than those offered by the manufacturer. Also remanufacturing of Pandrol-Jackson tampers by factory trained technicians with hundreds of combined experience in Pandrol-Jackson Equipment.

Hi-rail gear, installation, servicing and repair is another service available at affordable prices. For customers looking for a specialized truck we will find the truck for you and install hi-rail gear for them.
